Introduction and acceptance
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Mealum mobile application, website and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
The Services are operated by: Oleksandr Yashchuk, sole proprietor; NIP: 6793258161; REGON: 524238339; ul. Na Zjeździe 11/5, 30-527 Kraków, Poland; Email: contact@mealum.app.
By creating an account, accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights available to you under applicable law.
№02
Description of the services
Mealum is a meal-planning and nutrition-management application designed to help users organize everyday meals.
Depending on the available features and subscription plan, Mealum may provide: personalized weekly meal plans; recipe discovery and recipe recommendations; manual recipe creation and importing recipes from supported links; meal replacement and saved recipes; grocery shopping lists; estimated grocery budgets and store-specific price information; calorie and macronutrient tracking; AI-assisted food-photo analysis; and recommendations based on dietary preferences and kitchen equipment.
Certain features may require an internet connection, an account or an active subscription.
The availability of features may vary by platform, country, subscription plan and application version.
№03
Eligibility and accounts
Mealum is intended for users aged 16 or older.
If you are under 18, you must have any parental or guardian authorization required by applicable law to enter into these Terms or purchase a subscription.
You agree to provide accurate information where required for account registration and to keep your account credentials secure.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account, except where such activity results from circumstances for which you are not legally responsible.
If you suspect unauthorized access, please contact us at contact@mealum.app.
№04
License to use Mealum
Subject to compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the application for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not: copy, distribute or commercially exploit the application without authorization; modify or create unauthorized derivative versions of the application; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the application, except where permitted by applicable law; attempt to bypass security measures or subscription restrictions; use automated systems to extract substantial amounts of content or data without authorization; or use the Services in a way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.
This license does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights.
№05
Free and paid features
Mealum may provide both free and subscription-based features.
Free features may include selected nutrition-tracking functionality and other features made available without payment.
Paid features may include personalized weekly meal planning, additional recipe functionality, shopping lists, budget-related tools and other premium capabilities.
The exact features included in each plan are displayed within the application before purchase.
We may modify the features available under different plans, subject to applicable consumer protection laws and any contractual obligations.
№06
Subscriptions and automatic renewal
Mealum may offer automatically renewing subscriptions through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Before confirming a purchase, you will be shown the applicable subscription information, including: subscription price and currency; billing period; features included; any introductory offer or free trial; renewal conditions; and applicable cancellation information.
Automatic renewal: unless canceled, an automatically renewing subscription renews at the end of each billing period, and the applicable subscription fee is charged through the relevant app store.
Prices, billing periods and available offers may vary depending on your country, platform and selected subscription.
Any price changes affecting existing subscriptions will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the relevant app store's requirements.
№07
Free trials and introductory offers
Mealum may offer free trials or discounted introductory subscription periods.
The duration, eligibility and terms of any offer will be displayed before you confirm the subscription.
Unless the subscription is canceled before the applicable renewal or trial deadline, a free trial may convert into a paid subscription at the price shown during purchase.
Introductory offers may be limited to eligible users and may not be available to everyone.
The applicable app store determines and administers offer eligibility and subscription billing.
№08
Subscription cancellation
You may cancel an automatically renewing subscription through the app store used to purchase it.
Apple App Store: open your device's Settings, select your Apple Account, then Subscriptions, and select Mealum to manage or cancel the subscription.
Google Play: open Google Play, navigate to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and select Mealum to manage or cancel the subscription.
Canceling automatic renewal generally prevents future renewal charges. Access to paid features normally continues until the end of the current paid period, subject to the relevant app store's terms.
Uninstalling Mealum or deleting your Mealum account does not automatically cancel an active app-store subscription.
№09
Payments, refunds and consumer rights
Payments for subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google are processed through the relevant app store.
Refund requests for app-store purchases may be submitted through the applicable platform's refund procedures.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts statutory refund, conformity, withdrawal or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
Where required by law, consumers may also contact us at contact@mealum.app regarding their statutory rights.
№10
Right of withdrawal for EU consumers
If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason.
The applicable conditions depend on the nature of the digital service or content and how performance begins.
Where permitted by law, immediate access to digital content or services during the withdrawal period may affect the right of withdrawal, but only where the applicable legal requirements are satisfied.
These requirements may include your prior express consent or request, acknowledgment of the relevant consequences and the required contractual confirmation.
Simply accepting these Terms does not, by itself, constitute a separate express request or consent to waive statutory withdrawal rights.
To ask about withdrawal or exercise applicable consumer rights, contact contact@mealum.app.
Any refund or payment adjustment will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the relevant app-store purchasing arrangements.
№11
AI features and nutritional estimates
Mealum uses artificial intelligence to support features such as meal planning, recipe recommendations and food-photo nutrition analysis.
AI-generated information may contain inaccuracies, omissions or inconsistencies. In particular: calories and macronutrient values are estimates; food photographs may not reveal all ingredients, cooking methods or portion sizes; recipe recommendations may not fully reflect individual dietary needs; and AI-generated meal plans may require adjustments based on personal preferences and circumstances.
Users should review AI-generated information before relying on it.
Mealum does not guarantee that nutritional estimates, recipe information or AI-generated recommendations are exact or suitable for every individual.
№12
Medical and dietary disclaimer
Mealum is intended for general meal planning, nutrition awareness and informational purposes.
The Services do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment or professional medical or dietetic advice. Mealum is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Users with medical conditions, food allergies, intolerances or medically prescribed diets should consult an appropriate healthcare professional where necessary.
Food allergies: Mealum may use user-provided allergy and dietary information to personalize meal suggestions, but it cannot guarantee that every recipe, ingredient or externally supplied product description is free from allergens.
Users remain responsible for checking ingredient lists, product labels and relevant food-safety information before preparing or consuming food.
№13
Recipes and third-party content
Mealum uses third-party recipe and nutrition data providers, including the Spoonacular Food API (https://spoonacular.com/food-api), to provide recipe discovery, meal planning, ingredient information, cooking instructions and nutritional estimates.
Certain recipes, images, ingredient information and nutritional data displayed in Mealum are provided by Spoonacular or its underlying content sources. Such content remains the intellectual property of its respective owners and is made available subject to applicable third-party terms, licenses and usage restrictions.
Mealum does not claim ownership of recipes or other materials supplied by Spoonacular or their original authors.
Users may access this content for personal use through the functionality provided by Mealum. Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, extraction or commercial exploitation of third-party recipe content is prohibited.
Recipe information, ingredient quantities, nutritional estimates and dietary classifications may be incomplete or inaccurate. Users should independently verify information relevant to food allergies, intolerances or medical dietary requirements.
Recipe and nutrition data provided in Mealum may be powered by Spoonacular Food API.
№14
User-created and imported recipes
Mealum allows users to create recipes manually and import recipe information from supported websites and social media links.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit or import does not violate applicable laws or third-party intellectual property rights.
You retain any intellectual property rights you hold in original content that you create.
By submitting content to Mealum, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process and technically adapt that content as necessary to operate the Services and provide the features you request.
This license does not authorize us to sell your original recipes independently or use them for unrelated commercial publications.
You may delete saved content using available application functionality or request deletion of personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Importing content into Mealum does not transfer ownership of the original source material to you or to Mealum.
№15
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Mealum to: violate applicable laws or regulations; infringe intellectual property or privacy rights; upload malicious software or harmful code; attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems; interfere with the security or normal operation of the Services; misuse automated functionality to extract or redistribute protected content; submit fraudulent, unlawful or deliberately harmful material; or circumvent subscription payments or access restrictions.
We may take appropriate action in response to violations, including restricting access or suspending accounts, subject to applicable law.
№16
Intellectual property
The Mealum application, its software, design, branding, trademarks, logos and original materials are owned by or licensed to the operator. All applicable intellectual property rights are reserved.
Nothing in these Terms grants permission to use Mealum trademarks, branding or proprietary materials except as necessary for ordinary authorized use of the Services.
User-created content and third-party recipe content remain subject to their respective ownership and licensing arrangements.
№17
Third-party services
Mealum uses third-party services to support application functionality, analytics, attribution, subscription management and recipe discovery. These include Google Play Services, Amplitude, Adjust, Adapty, AppsFlyer and the Spoonacular Food API.
The Services may also rely on external AI, hosting, authentication and infrastructure providers.
Certain third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Our handling of personal data is described in the Mealum Privacy Policy.
№18
Grocery budgets and price estimates
Mealum may provide estimated grocery costs and shopping budgets based on selected recipes, ingredients, stores and regional information.
These amounts are informational estimates, not guaranteed retail prices or binding offers.
Actual prices may vary depending on store location, product availability, brand and package size, promotions and discounts, regional pricing and changes in retailer prices.
Mealum does not guarantee that the final cost of groceries will match the estimated budget.
Users should verify actual prices and availability with the relevant retailer before purchasing.
№19
Availability, updates and changes
We aim to maintain reliable access to Mealum but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Some features require an internet connection or compatible device and operating system.
We may release updates to improve performance, security or functionality.
Where changes materially affect paid digital services, we will comply with applicable consumer protection requirements, including any applicable information, remedy or termination rights.
We may temporarily restrict access where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security or technical reasons.
№20
Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or restrict access where a user materially violates these Terms or applicable law.
Where a breach can reasonably be remedied, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct it.
We may take immediate proportionate action where necessary to address security threats, unlawful conduct, serious infringement or risks to other users.
Users may stop using Mealum and request account deletion.
Termination does not affect accrued rights, applicable consumer remedies or obligations that legally survive termination.
№21
Privacy and personal data
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation, including GDPR where applicable.
The Privacy Policy explains the categories of information processed, purposes, legal bases, third-party recipients, retention and deletion, and users' privacy rights.
Please review the Mealum Privacy Policy for further information.
№22
Limitation of liability
Mealum provides tools for meal planning and nutrition management, including information generated by AI and third-party providers.
We do not guarantee that all content will be accurate, complete or uninterrupted.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by unauthorized misuse of the Services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, or other mandatory legal obligations.
Nothing in these Terms limits statutory consumer rights or remedies relating to defective or non-conforming digital services.
№23
Consumer protection and digital service conformity
Consumers may have mandatory rights under applicable EU and national laws concerning the conformity of digital content and digital services.
Where Mealum fails to conform to applicable contractual or legal requirements, users may be entitled to remedies provided by law.
Depending on the circumstances, these may include bringing the service into conformity, a proportionate price reduction or termination of the contract.
These statutory rights apply independently of any additional commercial guarantees.
№24
Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections applicable in the country of your habitual residence.
Nothing in these Terms deprives consumers of protections that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Disputes will be handled by courts competent under applicable law.
Before initiating formal proceedings, users are welcome to contact us at contact@mealum.app so that we can attempt to resolve the matter.
№25
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
The affected provision will be interpreted or adjusted only to the extent legally permissible.
№26

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Services, applicable laws or operational requirements.
The date of the latest update will be displayed at the beginning of this document.
